Q: How do I buy firewood on this site?

There are two ways to buy. First, you can post on the buyer's board what you want to buy, how much, and for what price, and wait for a vendor to click on the post and take you up on the offer. Alternatively, you can click on a seller's post to take them up on the offer.

Q: Do I have to register and login to buy firewood?

No, you only have to register and login to sell firewood.

Q: Who do I pay for the firewood that I buy?

Payment is made directly to the vendor. This website links buyers and sellers of firewood at a negotiated price and quantity, but does not deal monitarily in any sales transactions.

Q: Who can see my contact information when I post on the buyer's board?

When you make a post, your first name, city, asking price, and quantity will be displayed on the website. If a vendor takes up your offer, your contact information will be emailed to that vendor.

Q: What happens a vendor takes the offer I have posted?

An email is sent to both you and the vendor. The email contains the details of the sale, as well as contact information for both parties. It is then up to the buyer and seller to contact each other to finalize payment and delivery arrangements.

Q: How do I ensure the quality of the wood I am buying?

First, the buyer has the right to inspect the firewood prior to delivery. Second, the sale is contingent upon the quantity, quality, and species identity being what was posted. Third, the vendor must be registered with the website and be in good standing to sell firewood on this site. For more information about firewood, click on the learn about firewood link on the homepage.

Q: How can I remove a post that I have made?

After you make a post, a confirmational email is sent to you. In the email is a link to remove the post. If you don't have the confirmational email, you can email post@northidahofirewood.com with your name and the index# of the post, and we will remove it for you.

Q: What are the different markets?

There are seperate markets for each type of wood. For example the RFR market is for buying or selling Red Fir Rounds. In each market, there is a buyer's and seller's board. Click on a market on the sidebar to see posts for that type of wood.

Q: What does the ticker at the bottom of the screen represent ?

The ticker shows each type of wood's symbol, and what price it has been selling for. The ticker shows the average price of all sales from that type of wood sold in the last three days.
